Andhra opens mega food park

The 147-acre food park will provide food processing infrastructure to food processors, farmers, retailers and exporters

Andhra Pradesh has opened the country’s first mega food park at Chittoor to provide food processing infrastructure to food processors, farmers, retailers and exporters.

The Srini Mega Food Park, equipped with Central Processing Centre and Primary Processing Centres, will facilitate end-to-end food processing from seed to shelf.

It provides facilities for tetra packing, pulping, bottling, IQF, advanced testing lab, modular cold storage, and warehousing.

Supported by field collection centers, self help groups and individual farmers, the food park will enable basic and supply chain infrastructure, and cluster farming.

Being the largest fruits and vegetables cluster in India, Chittoor , is an ideal destination for food processing units,

The mega food park will allow food processors to access common testing facilities, and provide backward and forward linkage benefits.

It will enable retailers to have access to labelling and packing facilities at the park, good transportation and logistics facilities, and access to testing labs for quality assurance.

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries and the Andhra Pradesh Infrastructure Investment Corporation are supporting the 147-acre mega food park.
