Punjab to go for paperless administration

The state will implement a new document management system to enable all departments to carry out their administrative activities online

The Punjab government is planning to start Integrated Workflow Document Management System (IWDMS) from Punjab Civil Secretariat-I and II in Chandigarh to make all state departments paperless.

The state government will extend this initiative to district, tehsil and block offices, as well as to the public offices across the state to enable them become paperless in the next two years.
 
The state government has issued written instruction and informed employees that they can forward their leave applications through this online system.

Heads and secretaries of respective departments have been asked to make their departments’ functioning online under the new document management system.

The officials include Special Secretaries, Secretaries and Private Secretaries of Ministers, Private Secretaries of all the Principal Secretaries, Private Secretaries and Personal Assistants of Special Secretaries, Under Secretaries and Superintendents of Punjab Civil Secretariats-I and II.
